Paying VAT in Poland
If you have a Polish VAT registration, any VAT due must be paid to your individual Polish Tax Micro Account (Mikrorachunek podatkowy).
Unlike some countries, Poland does not use one standard bank account for all VAT payments. Instead, each taxpayer has their own unique payment account.
💳 How Do I Find My VAT Payment Details?
Finding your payment details is quick and easy.
1️⃣ Visit the Tax Micro Account Generator
Go to the official Polish Tax Authority website:
👉 Tax Micro Account Generator
2️⃣ Enter Your Polish Tax Number (NIP)
Enter your Polish Tax Identification Number (NIP).
The system will automatically generate your unique bank account number for making tax payments.
Good to know: Your Micro Tax Account remains the same and can be used for future tax payments.
💰 How Do I Make a VAT Payment?
Once you have your Micro Tax Account number:
- Make a bank transfer from your business bank account (or another account used for tax payments).
- Use the bank account number generated by the official tool.
- Pay the VAT amount due by the payment deadline.
Always ensure the payment amount matches the VAT declared on your VAT return.
⚠️ Important
Before making a payment:
- ✅ Check that you have entered the correct NIP.
- ✅ Use the correct bank account generated for your business.
- ✅ Pay before the VAT payment deadline to avoid late payment interest.
Using an incorrect payment reference or bank account may delay the allocation of your payment.
❓What If I Cannot Generate My Bank Account?
If you experience any problems generating your Polish Tax Micro Account, please contact your hellotax Account Manager.
We can help you identify the correct payment details before you make your VAT payment.
💡 Good to Know
Your Micro Tax Account is linked to your Polish NIP and does not normally change. Once generated, you can use the same account for future Polish tax payments unless instructed otherwise by the Polish Tax Authorities.
