When paying by bank transfer, the payment reference must normally be entered in the following format:
Italian VAT Number.Tax Code.Tax Year
Example:
00123459991.6003.2025
Using the correct payment reference helps the Italian Tax Authority allocate your payment correctly.
⚠️ Incorrect payment references may delay the allocation of your payment and could result in reminder notices or interest being charged.

✅ The payment amount matches your VAT return.
✅ You have entered the correct payment reference.
✅ The payment is made before the statutory deadline.
✅ Your bank allows SEPA Euro transfers where applicable.
