Italian Tax Authority Contact Information
Most communication with the Italian Tax Authority (Agenzia delle Entrate) relating to your Italian VAT registration is handled by hellotax or your appointed Fiscal Representative (where applicable).
However, there may be occasions where you need the official contact details or wish to visit the tax authority's website directly.

Should I Contact the Tax Authority Directly?
In most cases, No.
If hellotax manages your Italian VAT compliance, we recommend contacting your hellotax Account Manager first.
We can often:
- Explain tax authority correspondence.
- Respond to information requests on your behalf.
- Submit additional documents.
- Liaise directly with the Italian tax office where authorised.
This helps avoid duplicate communication and ensures a consistent response.
When Might You Contact the Tax Authority?
You may wish to contact the Italian Tax Authority directly if you:
- Need general information about Italian tax legislation.
- Require assistance accessing your personal online tax account.
- Have questions unrelated to your hellotax services.
- Are instructed by the tax authority to contact them directly.
Need Help?
If you receive correspondence from the Italian Tax Authority that you do not understand, do not ignore it.
Please forward the letter or email to your hellotax Account Manager as soon as possible.
Our VAT specialists will review the correspondence, explain what it means and, where appropriate, communicate with the Italian Tax Authority on your behalf.
I actually think this format is worth using as a template for every country. It gives customers:
- the official tax authority name;
- website, address and telephone number;
- an explanation of what the authority does; and
- clear guidance that hellotax should normally be the first point of contact. That last point will help reduce customers contacting tax authorities directly and potentially causing confusion with ongoing VAT cases.
