When Can hellotax Support Non-EU Sellers in the Czech Republic?
We regularly support non-EU businesses with Czech VAT registrations and ongoing VAT compliance.
However, additional requirements may apply depending on your business model and the nature of your activities in the Czech Republic.
✅ We Can Usually Support You If
- You are established outside the European Union.
- You store goods in the Czech Republic.
- You sell through ecommerce marketplaces such as Amazon or your own online store.
- You require a Czech VAT registration for stock storage or other local taxable activities.
- You can provide the required company and identification documents.
⚠️ Additional Requirements May Apply
The Czech tax authorities may require additional information from non-EU businesses, including:
- Proof of business activities.
- Information about the type of goods you sell.
- Supply chain information.
- Marketplace or sales channel details.
- Warehouse agreements.
- Import documentation.
- Information regarding company representatives.
Foreign businesses registered for Czech VAT may also be subject to specific communication and representation requirements with the Czech tax authorities.
VAT registration applications are normally submitted electronically through the authorised tax office channels, depending on the specific registration requirements.
If requested, we may be able to provide a copy of the submitted VAT registration form. However, this is not included as part of our standard service.
❌ We May Not Be Able to Support You If
- The required documentation cannot be provided.
- Tax authority requirements cannot be satisfied.
- Your business model falls outside the scope of our current service offering.
- Additional compliance obligations arise that require specialist local representation beyond our standard service model.
💡 Why Are Additional Checks Required?
Non-EU businesses are often subject to increased verification procedures and additional compliance requirements during the Czech VAT registration process.
The Czech tax authorities may request detailed information about your business activities, the type of goods you sell, your supply chain and your ecommerce operations before approving a VAT registration.
🧾 Not Sure If This Applies to You?
Please contact our Registration Team and provide:
- Your country of establishment.
- Your sales channels.
- The type of goods you sell.
- Whether you store goods in the Czech Republic.
- Whether you import goods into the Czech Republic.
We'll review your business setup and confirm whether we can support your Czech VAT registration and ongoing compliance requirements.
I would also recommend one small wording improvement unrelated to the accountant's comments. Instead of the title "When Can hellotax Support Non-EU Sellers in the Czech Republic?", I'd use "Can hellotax Support Non-EU Sellers in the Czech Republic?". It reads more naturally and is more typical of a knowledge base article.
