Taking Over Your Existing Czech VAT Number
Welcome to hellotax! 🎉
If you already have a Czech VAT number and would like hellotax to take over your VAT compliance, we'll need a few documents to get started.
This process is called a VAT Takeover. It means hellotax will become responsible for preparing and submitting your VAT returns, communicating with the Czech tax authorities where required, and supporting your ongoing VAT compliance obligations.
Below you'll find a list of the documents we typically require and why they are needed.
📄 Documents Required for a Czech VAT Takeover
1. Czech VAT Registration Certificate
Why we need it:
Confirms that your business is already VAT registered in the Czech Republic and provides official confirmation of your Czech VAT number.
2. Czech Tax Registration Number (DIČ)
Why we need it:
The Czech tax identification number allows us to identify your VAT account and ensure all future filings are submitted correctly.
3. VAT Returns Submitted During the Current Fiscal Year
Why we need it:
We must review previously submitted VAT returns to ensure continuity and avoid duplicate or incorrect filings.
4. Takeover Date
Why we need it:
This is the date from which hellotax will assume responsibility for your Czech VAT compliance.
5. Company Trade Register Extract
Why we need it:
Confirms your company's legal existence and provides important information such as company name, registration number, address and directors.
6. Home Country VAT Certificate (if applicable)
Why we need it:
Provides evidence of your VAT registration in your country of establishment and supports verification of your business activities.
7. Director's Passport or ID
Why we need it:
Identity verification may be required for compliance and authorisation purposes.
8. Articles of Association / Company Constitution
Why we need it:
Confirms the legal structure of the company and identifies authorised representatives.
9. Amazon Seller Central Link (if applicable)
Why we need it:
For ecommerce businesses, the Czech tax authorities may request information regarding marketplace activities and goods sold through online platforms.
