What is IOSS?
The Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) is an electronic portal that businesses can use to comply with their VAT e-commerce obligations for distance sales of imported goods. 🏬📦
📅 Since July 1, 2021, the IOSS system has been in place. Before this date, commercial goods valued at up to EUR 22 were exempt from import VAT.

- 🛍️ Better shopping experience – Buyers pay the total price at checkout instead of facing customs charges upon delivery.
- 🌍 Applies to all distance sales of imported goods within the EU for shipments up to EUR 150.
⚠️ IOSS Considerations
🔹 IOSS Registration: You must register on the IOSS portal.
🔹 Non-EU Businesses: If you’re located outside the EU, you may need to appoint an EU-established intermediary for VAT compliance.
🔹 Customs Clearance: A customs agent is required to handle goods declaration.
🔹 Value Limit: Goods or consignments must not exceed EUR 150 to qualify for IOSS.
